In 8M 2020, enterprises of Kazakhstan produced 7.2 million tons of cement, which is up by 5.1 % YoY. Cement production in August amounted to 1.2 million tons indicating an increase of 18.8 % YoY and 7.7 % MoM.
The volume of clinker production in January-August 2020 increased by 7.7 % YoY and amounted to 5.2 million tons. Clinker production in August 2020 amounted to 797,500 tons indicating an increase of 9.2 % YoY and 8.8 % MoM.
The volume of gypsum production in January-August 2020 increased by 10.2 % YoY and amounted to 61,500 tons. Gypsum production in August 2020 amounted to 10,400 tons indicating an increase of 38.7 % YoY and 33.3 % MoM.
The volume of lime production in January-August 2020 decreased by 7.6 % YoY, amounting to 524,000 tons.
The volume of ready-mixed concrete production in January-August decreased by 16.2 % YoY, amounting to 10.1 million tons.
At the end of May, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced its intention to commission 28 enterprises for the production of building materials.
The cement industry of the republic is represented by 17 integrated enterprises. At the end of last year, a plant with a capacity of 1 million tons per year was commissioned in the Shieli district of the Kyzylorda region in the south-west of the country. The investor was a Chinese company.
