Russian Prime Minister Digitalizes Capital Construction Projects

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the implementation and use of the Building Information Model (BIM) to develop and monitor the state of capital construction projects at all stages: from the construction and operation of the facility to reconstruction and demolition. BIM treats the whole construction project as a single entity and takes into account all information about it: from physical characteristics, method of placement in space, prices for building materials and finishing elements (from water pipes to ceiling shades).

BIM will contain a set of information, documents and materials that are collected in electronic format at all stages of construction. When you change one element, the necessary amendments to other elements of the project will be made automatically. This will help avoid mistakes during design and construction works, as well as eliminate the need to repeatedly adjust the documentation.

The collection of such data will be carried out by the developer, technical customer of the construction object or a person responsible for its operation. The use of BIM was approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated September 15, 2020 No. 1431.
