SLK Cement is preparing to launch a new loading terminal at the plant in Korkino (Pervomaisky municipality). The total capacity of the facility will be 250 tons of cement per hour. Investments in the construction of the terminal exceed RUB 250 million.
The terminal includes 4 units with the possibility of simultaneous shipment of products in cement trucks and railway cars, two for each type of delivery. The new terminal has a well thought-out logic of the shipment system, the location of the main elements of the equipment and piping, which speeds up the loading process increasing the productivity of the terminal. Cement comes from the silos via air chutes to the elevators that lift it to the top, and passes through vibrating screens that clean the product from foreign particles. It then goes directly to the loading bays.
SLK Cement is focused on ensuring maximum environmental friendliness of production and introduces innovative lean technologies, relying on the concept of rational use of resources. Therefore, the new shipping terminal has a 99.9% exhaust air treatment system that prevents cement dust from getting into the air. Eight modern bag filters, in addition to protecting the environment, increase the production efficiency, reducing waste and recycling cement. The dust content is also reduced when the products are loaded directly into delivery containers.
“The new shipping terminal at once addresses several tasks facing our company. We upgrade production, reducing the impact on the environment and making sure that the processes are environmentally friendy, - said Vladimir Klementyev, Director of Marketing and Sales of SLK Cement. “And at the same time we are improving technological and logistic processes, increasing the rate of loading for the convenience of our customers.”
Now the project, which provides an increase in the productivity of loading bays and a lower dustiness of cement trucks and hoppers, is at the final stage of completion. In the near future, the terminal will start operating at full capacity.
