"Norm" OJSC, a member of the newly established Azerbaijan Cement Producers Association, has joined the union's "Net Zero Accelerator" initiative, which aims to reduce CO2 emissions in the cement and concrete industry.
The company take part in the seminars organized by the association on May 6-7 and engaged in extensive discussions focused on shared practices related to sustainable development and climate action. On May 6, "Norm" OJSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the European Cement Research Academy (ECRA) as a member of the association.
This partnership aims to prepare the "Net Zero Roadmap" for Azerbaijan's cement industry by utilizing international experience and local knowledge, as well as obtaining the necessary legislation and regulations. It will support sustainable development in the cement and concrete industry by reducing CO2 emissions along the entire value chain in construction.
The Net Zero Accelerator initiative towards a decarbonized and sustainable future for the cement industry is of great importance to Norm and reflects the company's vision for the future. Throughout the project, Norm will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and industry partners, to promote and implement environmental and climate-related strategies.
It should be noted that "Norm" OJSC is committed to responsible practices, and the company's strategy prioritizes the protection of the environment and the application of the circular economy. Natural resources are used efficiently at the Norm Cement plant to contribute to a cleaner future with environmentally sustainable cement solutions. To this end, waste and alternative fuels are used in the production of raw materials, along with the recycling of waste.
