The Cement Manufacturers Association of Poland has published the results of the country's cement industry activity for the period of January-August 2020. According to the report, Polish enterprises produced 12.39 million tons of cement, which is 1.5 % more than in 8M 2020. The volume of cement production in August 2020 decreased by 3.7 % compared to August 2019 and amounted to 1.70 million tons.
The volume of clinker production in 8M 2020 increased by 2.1 %, up to 9.26 million tons. The volume of clinker production in August 2020 decreased by 6.3 % compared to August 2019 and amounted to 1.40 million tons.
The volume of cement imports to Poland increased by 35.2 % in 8M 2020 and amounted to 258,600 tons. The main import partner was Germany, exporting 224,800 tons of cement to Poland, which is 42.9 % more than in 8M 2019. The rest of the imports came from the Czech Republic.
Export of cement for the same period increased by 1.5 % and amounted to 133,800 tons. Most of it was exported to the Czech Republic — 67,300 tons, which is 7.5 % more than in 8M 2019. The largest increase in the volume of imports of Polish cement (3.26 times) was shown by Lithuania, where 16,600 tons of Polish products were delivered.
