Results of the international exhibition "Chemistry-2021"

From 25th to 27th October, an international exhibition of the chemical industry and science - Chemistry-2021 was held in Moscow.

The exhibition has become a traditional platform for meeting manufacturers and consumers of chemical products, developers and suppliers of advanced technologies and equipment. The chemical products and technologies presented at the exhibition for the fuel and energy complex, agriculture, medical, food and construction industries, as well as innovative equipment and engineering solutions for chemical industries have again shown their relevance among Russian and foreign specialists.

The best achievements and trends were reflected in the main thematic sections: chemistry, agrochemistry, petrochemistry, polymeric materials, low-tonnage and green chemistry, analytical, laboratory, pumping, compressor equipment, corrosion protection, innovative materials, the latest technologies for automation and digitalization of production and much more.

The opening ceremony of Chemistry-2021 exhibition and the IX Moscow International Chemical Forum was attended by the President of the Russian Union of Chemists Viktor Ivanov, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kurochkin, President of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia Gennady Shmal, Deputy Director of the Department of Chemical Technology complex and bioengineering technologies of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Pavel Filatkin, acting rector of the Russian University of Chemical Technology named after DI. Mendeleeva Ilya Vorotyntsev, and General Director of AO Expocentre Alexey Vyalkin.

211 companies from 12 countries demonstrated their achievements this year: Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, India, Canada, the Netherlands, the Republic of Belarus, Russia, Turkey, France, Switzerland, and Japan. Germany and the Republic of Belarus took part in the national expositions.

Aumund Fordertechnik GmbH (Germany) was among the companies representing foreign products. A worthy place at the exhibition was taken by manufacturers from the regions of Russia - Kaluga, Kirov, Leningrad, Tula, Yaroslavl regions, Stavropol Territory. Thanks to the Entrepreneurship Support Centers and government support measures, companies had the opportunity to present their products at the highest international level. Participation in collective expositions made it possible to find new partners, conclude agreements, and enter new markets.

The leading research institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences and universities of the country were introduced to innovative scientific developments. New technologies are being developed and personnel for the chemical industry are being trained at their production sites.

Promising developments became the focus of the Startup Chemzone project exposition in support of small and medium-sized enterprises.

A major industry event was the IX Moscow International Chemical Forum (MMHF), organized by Expocentre in partnership with the Russian Union of Chemists. The forum included over 20 events. They were attended by representatives of leading companies in the chemical complex, relevant ministries and industry associations, the scientific and expert community.

Alexey Krupskiy, Deputy Head of the Chemical Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, spoke about the state of the industry, government support and further development plans. The representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the chemical complex demonstrates positive dynamics, its share in the main economic indicators of the country is growing.

The event participants also discussed technical regulation issues, including those related to preparation for the implementation of the EAEU technical regulations on the safety of chemical products, new hazard classification standards, warning labels and safety data sheets for chemical products, as well as industry trends in the context of the climate agenda. During the session discussing tools for decarbonization of chemical enterprises, the leaders of ESG in Russia - Sibur, PhosAgro & Uralchem ​​- spoke about their initiatives and most effective tools to reduce the carbon footprint. Deep analytics and suggestions were voices by a representative of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after V.I. Gubkin.

The work of the Moscow International Chemical Forum was completed by the General Congress of the members of the Russian Union of Chemists.
