In H1 2020 production of ready-mixed concrete in Estonia increased by 3.9 % YoY, to 279,100 m3. The volume of ready-mixed concrete production in June 2020 amounted to 53,900 m3, which is 0.5 % less than in June last year and 9.2 % less than in May 2020.
In H1 2020 cement production amounted to 128,800 tons (down by 31.2 % YoY). In June 2020, 25,800 tons of cement were produced in Estonia — up by 5.3 % MoM and down by 41.1 % YoY.
In March this year it became known that Estonia’s only cement producer Kunda Nordic Cement will cease clinker production due to the rising cost of CO2 emissions quotas in the European Union.
