Russia Increases Cement Import From Kazakhstan in 7M 2020 by 23.5 % YoY

In January-July 2020, Russia imported 180,700 tons of cement produced in the Republic of Kazakhstan (up by 23.5 % YoY). According to the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, the cost of imports for the same period increased by 12.5 % YoY, up ​​to $ 9.74 million.

The volume of cement production in Kazakhstan in January-July 2020 showed an increase of 2.6 % compared to January-July 2019. The volume of cement production in Russia for the same period showed a decline of 5.6 % YoY.

Since September 11, 2020, by order of the Ministry of Finance of Russia, imported cement has been banned from purchasing to meet state and municipal needs.

In mid-June, the Federal Accreditation Agency announced the creation of a unified electronic register of certificates of conformity for products, in which documents of accreditation centers certified by electronic signature will be automatically updated. The service will become available from January 1, 2021. From September 1, 2020, the Ministry of Finance decided to allow procurement in the construction sector on a competitive basis.
