Semey Cement Plant Purchases New Grinding Equipment From Gebr. Pfeiffer

Semey Cement Plant in Kazakhstan purchased Gebr. Pfeiffer’s MVR 5000 C-4 vertical roller mill. The mill will completely replace all nine cement ball mills currently equipped at the plant. The mill will also allow to expand the range of cement grades produced at Semey and double the energy efficiency of the grinding facility.

MVR 5000-C with a 4000 kW drive and an SLS 4500 BC separator will produce up to 200 tons of cement per hour. The ability to maintain the MVR without interrupting production was one of the reasons for choosing the mill.

Semey signed the contract with Gebr. Pfeiffer was signed following an international tendering procedure in August 2020. The purchase of new equipment will take place as part of Semey’s production modernization project. The delivery and installation of the equipment is scheduled for autumn 2021. In 2025, the company also plans to expand its production capacity with the construction of a dry process clinker production line. The design capacity of the new line will be 1.2 million tons per year.

Kazakhstani Semey Cement Plant was commissioned in 1958. The design capacity of the plant is 1.2 million tons per year. Its products are also supplied to the territory of the West Siberian Federal District of Russia.
