Serebryansky Cement Plant Modernizes Cement Cooling System

Smikom’s Serebryansky Cement plant has successfully tested the water injection systems for second chambers of cement mills. The systems have been developed by the company's specialists to help reduce the temperature of the finished product. Two units have been assembled by the employees of the plant and put into operation. Another cement cooling system is planned for installation by the summer of 2021. The use of injection systems allowed the company to ship cement at a temperature requested by consumers — ≤ 70 ° C.

The implementation of this investment project (the installation of cement cooling systems) has initially been planned for Q2 2020. Since the units are only produced abroad, the coronavirus pandemic and the related border closure had the project suspended. Developing a proprietary system made it possible to speed up the process.

The developers took all the aspects of operation of such systems into account and improved upon many of them. In particular, multi-stage protection: from the detection of possible failures and protection of equipment from incorrect start-up to operation monitoring. The system operates autonomously and only requires periodic visual control.
