New Cement Plant Launched In Republic Of Uzbekistan

A new cement plant with a design capacity of 100,000 tons per year, "Qurilish Ashyo Sifat Servis", was launched in the Uzbekistan district of the Fergana region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. B. I. Ismailov, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Manufacturers of Building Materials of Uzbekistan "Uzpromstroymaterialy", told Cement and its Applications about the launch of the enterprise.

According to Appendix to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Measures to Simplify the Cement Import Procedure and Providing Domestic Market with High-Quality Cement", the cost of the new cement plant amounted to US$ 25 million. By the end of 2020 the plant is expected to produce about 2,000 tons of cement.

It is expected that the design capacity of cement enterprises in the republic will increase by 60 % by the end of this year. In the next year and a half, construction and commissioning of 10 cement plants is expected in Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Tashkent, Andijan, Fergana and Namangan regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
