Uzbek Cement Industry Expects 60 % Design Capacity Boost by End of 2020

It is expected that the total design capacity of cement enterprises in Uzbekistan will increase by 60 % by the end of 2020 and will reach 20 million tons, as per Ulugbek Abraev, deputy chairman of the board of the Association of the building materials industry enterprises of Uzbekistan.

Taking the increasing demand for construction products into account, the association has developed a plan, according to which it is planned to increase the volume of cement production in the country up to 14.5 million tons by late 2021.

In 2020-2021, the association plans to build and launch 10 cement plants in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Tashkent, Andijan, Fergana and Namangan regions.

Today, 30 specialized enterprises are engaged in the production of cement, among which the largest Qizilqumsement, Akhangarancement, Kuvasaycement, Bekabadcement and Sherabad Cement Plant.
