Main and Auxiliary Equipment Repairs Complete at Iskitimcement

Iskitimcement, a subsidiary of Sibcem, finalized its H1 2020 repairs campaign. The campaign cost RUB 362.1 million, with repairs carried out at grinding, raw materials and distribution facilities, and clinker production lines.

“Despite the difficult situation in the country in general, and in the construction industry in particular, we pay special attention to the timely and high-quality implementation of the repairs program, which is vital for non-stop operation of the enterprise,” said Vladimir Skakun, Managing Director of Iskitimcement.

Raw Material facility had mill equipment’s interchamber partition and an eight-meter section of the mill housing # 2 replaced. The gearbox of the main drive (A-2400) was also repaired. Mill No. 5 had frontal armor plates, armor plates of the first chamber and the interchamber partition replaced along with the ZM-1600 gear box of the main drive of the unit.

Rotary kiln No. 7 had its chain zone and electrostatic precipitator repaired, and the support rollers completely replaced. The repair of exhaust fans, a cross bar cooler and refractory lining of the kiln was carried out.

Rotary kiln No. 8, had its three body sections (with a total length of 15 meters) repaired, and the electrostatic precipitator replaced. The kiln’s chain zone, support rollers and exhaust fans also were replaced. Among other things, a major overhaul of the Volga 50 cross bar cooler was carried out.

In the spring, the plant overhauled its AUMUND clinker conveyor.

Refractory lining in chimneys of rotary kilns No. 6 and No. 7 was renewed.

A section of the body of the mill No. 5 in the grinding facility was repaired. Its frontal armor plates and sectors of the interchamber partition were replaced. Mill No. 2 had a section of its body and in-mill equipment renewed.

In January-June 2020, the main drive gearboxes at mill No. 2 (D-3600 replaced with a modern European-made unit) and No. 6 were replaced. The repairs amounted to over RUB 85 million.

By the end of the year, Iskitimcement is planning to carry out repairs of grab cranes No. 1 and No. 4, a mixer unit No. 1, slurry pipelines and belt conveyors in the Raw Materials facility. The Grinding facility will go through routine repairs of cement mills No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6, and a grab crane No. 7.
