Siberian Cement’s Mining Company Launches Production of Limestone Meal

A subsidiary mining company of Sibirsky Cement (OOO ‘Gornaya Kompaniya’) began mass production of limestone meal — an environmentally friendly fertilizer, which is successfully used in agriculture for deoxidation of soils.

The mining company provided an experimental batch for certification at the end of last year. The product is certified according to GOST 14050-93 (Limestone (dolomite) meal).

Limestone meal helps restore the alkaline balance of the soil, stimulates the growth and development of the root system of plants, and ultimately increases the yield.

The fertilizer is suitable for many crops: fruits and berries, carrots, tomatoes, beets, potatoes, clover, alfalfa, buckwheat, onions, flax and others.

“To organize the production of this new type of product, the enterprise modernized the mineral powder packaging line,” says Managing Director of ‘Gornaya Kompaniya’, Mikhail Arkhipov. “The company’s specialists reconstructed storage buker No. 4 into a limestone meal packaging facility, installing a dispenser and mounting a bag sewing machine.”

Limestone meal is packaged in 10 kg paper bags.

In May, this mineral fertilizer went on sale in retail stores in the capital of Buryatia, and it is planned to start supplying limestone meal to agricultural enterprises. OOO ‘Gornaya Kompaniya’ is the first manufacturer of limestone meal in the territory of the Republic of Buryatia. Previously, fertilizer was supplied to the region from the European part of Russia.
