Sibirsky Cement YoY Production up by 3%

Cement plants of Sibirsky Cement Holding [Sibcem] showed production growth in 2019 — an increase of 3% to almost 3.2 million tons. The boost was caused by the growing demand in the local market. The holding expects further growth due to high construction market demand with many upcoming infrastructure projects.

The most productive among the holding’s enterprises was Topkinsky Cement, which produced 2.2 million tons of products in Jan-Dec, showing a 5% increase in production. The production growth at Timlyuy Cement amounted to 15% YoY, up to 372,600 tons. The Krasnoyarsk plant produced 608,500 tons of cement, which is 11% less than the previous year.

At the same time, Siberian Concrete shipped nearly 269,700 m3 of dry mixes to consumers, gaining 28% on production. The overall production growth is explained by an increase in cement consumption in Siberia, Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory by 4.4% over the year, to 5.3 million tons.

According to the vice president of the holding, the capacity of the cement market can be facilitated by the construction of large-scale facilities:
  • mining and processing plant in the village of Ozerny, the Republic of Buryatia
  • mining and metallurgical plant at the Udokansky copper deposit in Transbaikalia
  • fourth bridge across the Ob river
  • housing stock of the Irkutsk region
  • objects youth world hockey championship 2023 in Novosibirsk
  • objects of cultural cluster
  • reconstruction Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk airports in Kuzbass

In 2019, the holding's plants supplied cement and concrete for the construction of the Presidential Cadet School in the city of Kemerovo, the construction of a transport and logistics hub at the Krasnoyarsk airports, the third stage of the Kemerovo-Leninsk-Kuznetsk highway, the Ice Palace in Ulan-Ude, and the development of the Yurubcheno-Tohomi oil and gas fields.
