On 20th May 2021, within the framework of the extraordinary General Meeting of Union of Cement Producers “SOYUZCEMENT”, Chairman of the Board Mikhail Skorokhod and President of the "Association for the Development of Road Cement Concrete and Cement Concrete Pavements" Viktor Ushakov signed an agreement on long-term cooperation for joint work aimed at the development of design and construction of highways with the use of mineral binders and cement concrete in the structural layers of road pavements.
The parties plan to join forces in order to develop the use of road cement concrete and mineral binders in road construction, as well as to participate in the development and implementation of programs and activities aimed at the development of high-quality and safe highways in the Russian Federation. Such programs and activities are envisioned, in particular, within the framework of the national project "Safe and High-Quality Roads" and the Comprehensive Plan for the Modernization and Expansion of the Main Infrastructure for the Period up to 2024, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as the Strategy for the Development of the Building Materials Industry for the Period up to 2020 and further perspective until 2030. Use of modern, high-quality, environmentally friendly, energy-efficient and competitive road-building materials will increase the service life of road pavements and coatings, and reduce operating costs for the repair and maintenance of highways.
“The Union of Cement Producers is consistently working to expand the use of cement concrete in road construction. Consolidation of competencies will allow working to improve the quality of road infrastructure, which, mainly, contributes to the fulfillment of the tasks of socio-economic and infrastructural development of the Russian Federation" - stated Mikhail Skorokhod, Chairman of the Board of SOYUZCEMENT.
“Development of a network of high-quality and safe roads in Russia using innovative technologies and materials is one of the tasks which is prioritized on a national scale. As world experience shows, the widespread use of mineral binders and cement concrete in the structural layers of road pavements during the construction and reconstruction of roads can significantly increase the bearing capacity of road pavements, increase the service life of highways and reduce operating costs. The task of the Association of Concrete Roads is to unite the efforts of scientific, educational, design, contracting organizations, manufacturers of cement and road-building equipment to improve the efficiency of the implementation of infrastructure transport projects using mineral binders and cement concrete” stressed Viktor Ushakov, President of the Association of Concrete Roads.
NO SOYUZCEMENT is a non-profit organization uniting leading cement producers of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), enterprises in the field of mechanical engineering for the cement industry, research and design institutes, information and analytical centers. It is a single platform for developing a consolidated position on the EAEU building materials industry. Total share of production of Union members on the EAEU market is 80%.
