Starocementny Plant to Supply Experimental Batch of Grouting Mixtures to Surgutneftegaz

Cement company in the city of Sukhoi Log won a contract by tender to supply a large oil and gas company. Starocementny plant will supply a pilot batch of grouting mixtures to Surgutneftegaz — one of the largest oil and gas companies in Russia. The plant expects the production of dry mixes fully loaded in 2020 due to new orders.

“Surgutneftegas will test our products in the field environment and we can hope to then conclude a long-term contract,” says director of the enterprise Andrei Zemtsov.

In addition, the company intends to increase the efficiency of equipment for the production of olivine, ferro-magnesium silicate for refractory bricks, and ensure the stability of the quality of cement products.

Starocementny plant switched to new raw materials deposit this year. The company used the field in the city of Asbest near Yekaterinburg. The content of chrysotile asbestos in its raw materials caused serious concerns on the part Rospotrebnadzor. So now the company uses a raw materials base of the Kochkarsky deposit, where asbestos is absent.

“The company's specialists are switching to new raw materials without loss in quality. The laboratory staff studied the source materials and semi-finished products at all stages of production,” says Andrei Zemtsov.

Starocementny plant now has a filter replacement program for rotary kilns in place. The program to be finished until 2025. Filter at a kiln No. 1 has already been changed, and a kiln No. 2 is underway. The third and fourth rotary kilns have already been reequipped.
