Yakutcement Increased Its Waterborne Freight Volume by 73%

In the navigation season of 2019 (May-October) Yakutcement plant shipped more than 272,000 tons of products by river. The plant is located in the village of Mosogolokh in the Khangalassky district of Yakutia. According to Vostokcement [Yakutcement’s parent company], the plant increased waterborne shipments by 115,000 tons.

During the navigation season 2019, Yakutcement shipped:
  • Cement — 71,000 tons, where 39,000 tons went to contractors working on the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, and 22,000 tons went to enterprises producing PDN-plates.
  • Crushed stone and screenings — 139,000 tons. Including 40,000 tons for the construction of coastal protection berths in the village of Nizhny Bestyakh.
  • Reinforced concrete slabs — over 20,000 tons. Among them are precast monolithic slabs for an airfield in the city of Olekminsk.

Cement, crushed stone and clinker were delivered to customers in Yakutsk, Lensk, Chapaevo, Olekminsk, Peleduy and other settlements. The last shipment took place on October 15th. Yakutcement has received products by river: over 27,000 tons of gypsum and 14,000 tons of cinder.

During winter, the company will have to prepare for the new navigation season. Ongoing repairs will be carried out at the berths, and four gantry cranes will be prepared. Over the past two years, wallsberth at the plant’s wharf has been overhauled, along with the engines and running gear of the gantry cranes.

Yakutcement is the city-forming enterprise of the village of Mohsogollokh. Residential buildings, a hospital, a clinic, a bakery, a school, a kindergarten and other key urban facilities were built on behalf of the plant. The enterprise are owns and maintains the central boiler house and water intake facilities that provide water, and heat supply to the village.

Vostokcement holding invests in the Yakutskcement modernization and an updated second production line was launched this spring along with two new mills in the raw materials department.
