Zhambyl region plans to open a plant for the production of building materials

Akim of Zhambyl region Berdibek Saparbayev held a meeting with Alexander Blumgardt, the representative for the CIS at the managing participants of the Knauf Gips company. During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the implementation of investment projects in the Zhambyl region, as well as the implementation of the project for the construction of a building materials plant in the region. The meeting was also attended by representatives of companies with which Knauf Gips maintains partner relations.

Knauf Gips intends to build a plant for the production of building materials in Taraz. The project will be completed in 2023. The plant will produce gypsum building boards and dry building mixtures. It is planned to create 180 new jobs. Knauf Gips recently launched a similar plant in the Almaty region. Knauf Gips Kapchagai LLP is now one of the largest manufacturers of building materials in the world.

Berdibek Saparbayev noted that the state policy in Kazakhstan opens up great opportunities for foreign investors, and emphasized the importance of introducing advanced technologies in order to improve the environmental situation. Alexander Blumgardt said that production in the Zhambyl region will be environmentally friendly.

During the meeting, participants decided to develop a Roadmap for the implementation of the investment project.

“I am sure that the products of the new plant will be in great demand. The state program "Business Road Map-2025" is active in Kazakhstan. Within the framework of this program, we provide investors with all kinds of support,” stated regional akim Berdibek Saparbayev.
