Angarskcement Completes Repairs Campaign, Increasing Cement Output by 19 %

A rotary kiln No. 2 was commissioned at Angarskiy Cement and Mining Plant (Angarskcement, a subsidiary of Sibcem) and a total of three kilns will now operate at the enterprise during the construction season. The company's specialists have completed the repair campaign. Cement production volume increased by 19 %.

A new electrostatic precipitator was installed at the kiln No. 2 during the repairs. The kiln No. 3 had armored lining and heat-resistant castings replaced, and the kiln No. 1 had its main drive gear box replaced.

Angarskcement cement mill No. 1 had its lining upgraded (wear-resistant armor plates). The spur pinion housing has been replaced at the coal mill. A new compressor has been installed to supply compressed air to kilns, mills and other units.

The marble pre-crushing facility completed the replacement of side armor plates and jaw crusher plates. Conveyor No. 4 had its conveyor belt and tensioner replaced.

An overhaul of the SMD-97A No. 1 hammer crusher  was carried out at a marble fine crushing facility. The crusher had a new high-voltage electric driving motor installed.

The design of the receiving hopper of the crusher was changed to prevent raw materials from sticking during the off-season.  The plant’s specialists replaced the SMD-97A No. 2 hammer crusher’s bumper.

As part of the preparations for the construction season, a summer parking for trucks was organized at Gorny site to exclude empty vehicle mileage from the site to the garage.

A new front-end loader has operated at Pereval quarry since January as part of the continuous mining equipment fleet renovation.

Angarskcement acquired 90 modern dump cars to provide the plant with the main raw materials. A recently acquired bulldozer is used to transport raw materials and clinker at the site. The plant also received a new 16-ton grab bucket crane in March this year.

In January-May, cement dispatches at Angarskcement increased by 19 % YoY. This is due to the demand at the construction site of a mining and metallurgical enterprise in the Trans-Baikal Territory.

Angarskcement products are also supplied to the Tulun district of the Irkutsk region, where facilities are being renovated after the summer floods of 2019. Cement is also supplied to Ilim group, constructing new facilities for pulp and paper enterprises in the cities of Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk.

“We plan to keep cement production at the level of 2019, up to 635,000 tons, which is about half the capacity of Angarskiy Cement and Mining Plant,” says Angarskcement’s CEO Dmitry Kireev.

The results of May indicate the growth in cement demand of 7 % in the Irkutsk region and 70 % in the Trans-Baikal Territory, as per Sibcem’s representatives.
