In January-October 2020, enterprises of the Republic of Tajikistan produced 3.64 million tons of cement, which is 2.4 % more than in January-October 2019. The volume of ready-mixed concrete production for the same period increased by 25.3 % and amounted to 349,400 m3.
The production volumes of precast concrete products and reinforced concrete slabs decreased by 14.5 % (down to 13,200 m3) and by 11 % (to 57,100 m3), respectively.
Cement export in 10M 2020 amounted to 1.08 million tons, and the cost — US$ 49.8 million.
One of the three — and the main — importer of Tajik cement was Uzbekistan. The Republic of Uzbekistan imported 614,300 tons of cement from Tajikistan worth US$ 29.1 million. Afghanistan exported 422,900 tons worth US$ 18.9 million, and Kyrgyzstan exported 41,800 tons worth US$ 1.8 million.
According to the Ministry of Industry, there are 14 cement enterprises operating in Tajikistan, the total annual capacity of which is estimated at 5.1 million tons. Most of the production volume falls on three Tajik-Chinese joint ventures — Chungtsai Mohir Cement, Huaxin Gayur Cement, and Huaxin Gayur Sughd Cement.
