In Q1 2020, Russia increased cement imports by 56.7 % YoY, up to 367,200 tons. Meanwhile, cement exports increased by 14.7 % YoY, up to 205,000 tons.
More than half of the imported cement (51.3 %) in Q1 came from Belarus — 188,200 tons. Among other major suppliers in Q1 are Kazakhstan (48,000 tons), China (16,000 tons), Turkey (11,300 tons) and Egypt (11,000 tons). As per the report of the Federal Customs Service, 15.6 % of imports volume (57,300 tons) accrue to an “Unknown country”.
Russian cement in Q1 was exported primarily to Kazakhstan with 93,200 tons (45 % of total exports) and Belarus — 80,500 tons (40 %). Among export partners there also are Finland (9,400 tons) and Azerbaijan (8,300 tons).
Cement consumption in Q1 2020 in Russia grew by 5 % YoY, up to 9.7 million tons.
