In 2020, enterprises of the Russian Federation produced 56 million tons of cement (Portland cement, alumina cement, slag cement and similar hydraulic cements), which is 2.9 % less than in 2019. The volume of cement production in December amounted to 3.3 million tons — 2.4 % more than in December 2019, and 17.6 % less than in November 2020.
Thus, the YoY production deficit of the cement industry decreased by 0.3 percentage points compared to the 11-month period.
The volume of ready-mixed concrete production in the 12 months of 2020 amounted to 35.3 million m3, which is 2.4 % less than in 2019. The December output amounted to 2.3 million m3 indicating a decrease of 2.1 % compared to December 2019 and 11.9 % compared to November 2020.
The support measures announced by the Russian government have become stimulating factors in the activities of the cement industry. The results of the cement industry in 2020 coincided with the forecasts of Soyuzcement. In December, the association assessed the effectiveness of the support measures for industry and the economy.
