Cement production in Ukraine in July 2020 increased by 5.9 % YoY (up to 1.03 million tons). Production volumes in 7M 2020 increased by 3.7 % YoY (up to 5.04 million tons), according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Clinker production in July increased by 12.2 % YoY (up to 735,000 tons). Clinker production in 7M 2020 increased by 1.5 % (up to 3.89 million tons). Quicklime production increased by 7.8 % YoY in July (up to 196,800 tons) and by 2.4 % YoY in 7M 2020 (up to 1.34 million tons).
The introduction of import duties for Belarusian and Moldovian clinker and cement, along with the ban of Russian cement products, boosted the demand for local products. Duties for all goods from Moldova (including cement) were set at 94.46 %, and duties for all goods from Belarus (including cement) were set at 57.03 %.
