The ministry of economics and development of the Republic of Chechnya reported an expected industrial production growth of 2.2% in 2020. The increase is expected as Chechencement plant — the only cement enterprise in the region — is set to reach its full design capacity. The enterprise increased its production capacity by 34% over the course of 2019 (up to 640,000 tpa) and expects to nearly double the output to reach 1.2 million tpa yearly capacity.
The enterprise has already invested over 1.3 billion rubles in modernisation of two production lines. The major part of investment was provided by state-owned bank of Sberbank.
Chechencement is one of the largest manufacturers of building materials in the North Caucasus Federal District. The enterprise runs a wet-process production line, delivering CEM I 42.5 N Portland cement. Design capacity of the enterprise is 1.2 million tons of products per year. The plant was first launched in 1974, and then re-launched in 2012.
