Repairs of Cement Mill No. 8 Complete at Sibcem’s TimlyuyCement

In the cement department of the Grinding facility at Sibcem’s TimlyuyCement, the grinding equipment is being prepared for the “high” construction season of 2021. As part of the preparation, the specialists of the enterprise carried out a scheduled repair of cement mill No. 8.

Their wear rate of the mill’s armor plates was about 40 %. Abrasion led to a deterioration in the operation of the grinding media, but did not affect the housing. The specialists of the enterprise executed a two-stage replacement of armor plates.

40 % of the plates were replaced at the end of 2018, and the remaining 60 % were updated this year. This resulted in an increase in the hourly productivity of the mill due to the improved operation of the grinding bodies (cylpebs) and more thorough grinding of the material in the second chamber.

Disc feeders’ worn parts, oil system and pneumatic chamber pump were also replaced. The specialists of the “Equipment maintenance and repairs" department cleaned three sections of the FRI-180 bag filter sleeves, revised the exhaust fan, and replaced the shutter system.

The employees of the “Grinding” facility cleaned the equipment and changed the oil at the oil station. Specialists of "Electric workshop" carried out works on the revision and scraping of the bearing shells of the electric motor, as well as the revision of the electrical equipment of the mill.

“Off-peak period in the building materials market allows us to carry out high-quality preparation of technological equipment for peak loads. The current repairs of cement mill No. 8 (as well as the previous repairs of cement mill No. 6) were carried out with the expectation that the unit would remain in operation for the entire construction season of 2021. It is planned to produce mainly high-quality cement on this line — PC 500 D0-N and CEM I 42.5N,” emphasizes Vladimir Klitschko, Managing Director of TimlyuyCement LLC.

The design capacity of TimlyuyTsement plant in the village of Kamensk of Kabansky region of the Republic of Buryatia is 800,000 tons of cement per year.
