AKKERMANN’s Gornozavodskcement Enters Russian Oil-Well Cement Market

Sales and Marketing Director of Gornozavodskcement, Oksana Bocharova, revealed that the next step in the company's development would be covering the needs of the oil and gas business of the Urals and Western Siberia regions. The company will focus on the needs of consumers involved in the construction of deep oil and gas wells using high sulphate-resistant Portland oil-well cement. According to the company's specialists, the unique geographical position will allow Gornozavodskcement to establish a strong presence in this market.

During 2020, the plant carried out a large-scale re-equipment programme with an investment volume of over RUB 400 million. One of the most important phases of the project was modernization of cement mills No. 8 and 9, which made it possible to start production of cement of one of the most demanded grades — CEM I 52.5N. This cement has increased strength characteristics, high quality stability and is compatible with all types of chemical additives.

With optimization of the raw material charge Gornozavodskcement has achieved a quality level that fully meets the requirements for the production of sulfate-resistant and oil-well cements. A quality certificate for CEM I 42.5N SR has already been received. The plant is already offering consumers PCT I-50 and PCT II-50 oil-well cements.

As for technical equipment and product quality, Gornozavodskcement is fully ready for the production of oil-well cements according to global standards, and in 2021 it plans to begin works on obtaining an official API SPEC 10A certificate for the production of oil-well cements.

Gornozavodskcement is part of AKKERMANN holding company. The main consumers of its products are enterprises of the Perm Territory, Sverdlovsk and Kirov regions, as well as the Republic of Tatarstan.
