Sberbank dropped the claim against Eurocement group

Moscow Arbitration Court terminated proceedings on the claim of Sberbank, which received the rights of claim from Bank Intesa, the Russian division of the Italian group Intesa Sanpaolo, on the recovery of more than 626 million rubles from EUROCEMENT Group.

As follows from the published ruling of the court, the proceedings were terminated in connection with the refusal of the plaintiff from the claim. Initially, a lawsuit against the largest Russian cement producer, then owned by businessman Filaret Galchev, was filed in August 2020 by a subsidiary of an Italian bank. In April, the court made a procedural substitution of the plaintiff on the basis of an assignment agreement.

Earlier, the court refused "Inteza" in taking interim measures in the form of arrest of the property complex of the Moscow Region plant "Peskovsky Combine of Building Materials", part of the EUROCEMENT group which was involved in this case in the status of a third party. In addition to the plant's real estate - land plots, workshops, warehouses, gas pipelines and other infrastructure facilities, including those pledged to the bank as collateral for a loan, the bank wanted to arrest about 20 vehicles.
