Sibcem Upgrades Lab Equipment of All Its Cement Plants

Sibcem [Sibirsky Cement Holding] invested 28 million rubles in upgrading the equipment of the laboratories of its cement plants last year. This year, the company intends to spend another 5 million rubles. The laboratories of Topkinsky cement plant in the Kemerovo region underwent the most significant modernization.

Once the production of oil-well cement of high sulfate resistance (grade G) began, the laboratory of the plant was equipped with all the necessary equipment for testing. In 2019, the reconstruction of the supply and exhaust ventilation system was carried out.

The laboratory at Timlyuy Cement began implementing the X-ray fluorescence method of chemical analysis in 2019. For these purposes, an X-Supreme 8000 analyzer was purchased (manufactured by ‘Oxford Instruments’, Shanghai). The cost of the device was about 4.5 million rubles.

The testing unit of the Krasnoyarsk cement plant will receive new equipment in the coming months. Approximate costs will amount to 2.2 million rubles.

In 2017-2018, Sibcem allocated 42 million rubles for the purchase of laboratory equipment for cement plants. New scales, ovens, muffle furnaces, and other types of equipment are purchased every year to replace the used ones.

In January, the Topkinsky cement plant completed the development and began selling a new type of cement with the addition of blast furnace granulated slag. The product is designed for the manufacturing of precast concrete and massive reinforced concrete structures.

The holding also invested 1.8 billion rubles to expand its rolling stock fleet in 2019. Sibcem recently reported a 3% YoY production growth in 2019.
