Yakutcement Plant Plans on Increasing Waterborne Dispatches by 10 % in 2020

Vostokcement’s Yakutcement plant started the 2020 navigation season. The company expects to increase waterborne dispatches over the period of May-October by 10.3 % YoY, up to 300,000 tons. Cement, sand, clinker and crushed stone produced by Yakutcement will be delivered by river to construction sites of Lensk, Peleduy, Olekminsk, as well as Vilyui and Kobyay regions.

The first barge departed on May 20, carrying a cargo of 3,300 tons of sulfate-resistant cement to the city of Lensk. Serial production of this type of SR cement was initiated at Yakutcement earlier this year. The next barge will deliver a cargo of oil-well cement to Lensk.

A cargo of cement and sand will be dispatched in the following days to reach the construction site of A331 Vilyui federal highway, while crushed stone and reinforced concrete products will be delivered to the construction site of the airport in the city of Olekminsk.

The 2019 navigation season saw Yakutcement waterborne dispatches reach 272,000 tons of products (cement, crushed stone, reinforced concrete slabs). In the wake of the 2020 season, Yakutcement has upgraded the material and technical base of the berth, including engines and gantry cranes chassis.
