Cement Production in Ukraine in June up by 6.5 % YoY

Cement production in Ukraine in June 2020 increased by 6.5 % YoY (up to 0.85 million tons). Cement output in 6M 2020 increased by 3.2 % YoY (up to 3.01 million tons), according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The volume of clinker production in June amounted to 0.73 million tons (up by 22.4 % YoY). Clinker production in 6M 2020 decreased by 0.7 % (down to 3.16 million tons).

Cement stocks remained at the level of May 2020 (201 thousand tons). Q1 2020 production volumes showed similar results with a 6.3 YoY growth.

The introduction of import duties for Belarusian and Moldovian clinker and cement, along with the ban of Russian cement products, boosted the demand for local products. Duties for all goods from Moldova (including cement) were set at 94.46 %, and duties for all goods from Belarus (including cement) were set at 57.03 %.
